Two immersive drones, two visions of flight. The DJI Avata 2 refines cinematic FPV. The Avata 360 adds immersive panoramic capture. Which one is right for you?

Two very different approaches

The Avata 2 is a “classic” FPV drone: a wide-angle camera pointing forward, designed for dynamic, fluid shots. The Avata 360 carries a dual-sensor system enabling 360° capture: you film everything around you and reframe afterwards in post-production, like a flying panoramic action cam.

Camera and image

  • Avata 2: 1/1.3" sensor, 4K/60 fps HDR, 155° super wide-angle. Ideal for FPV dives, proxies and classic immersive shots.
  • Avata 360: dual 1/1.3" sensor, 360° capture up to 8K equivalent. Ideal for VR, free reframing and impossible shots.

Weight, battery life, transmission

The Avata 2 weighs 377 g for ~23 min of flight; the Avata 360, a bit heavier (~410 g), offers ~22 min. Both carry DJI’s O4 transmission, known for its range and fluidity. On this front, they are very close.

Ecosystem and control

Both drones are compatible with the Goggles 3 and the motion control of the RC Motion 3. So you keep the same handling whichever you choose. That is a real plus if you already own DJI accessories.

Which one to choose?

  • Avata 2: the best choice for cinematic FPV, beginners and those who want the versatile reference. See our guide to getting started with FPV.
  • Avata 360: for creators who want unique panoramic shots, VR content or total reframing freedom in post-production.
