Delivering a drone to a pickup point: preparing, receiving and checking your parcel

Buying or selling a drone means careful shipping. Here’s how to pack a DJI parcel, protect batteries and accessories, then check a pickup-point delivery.

A DJI drone is compact but fragile: gimbal, propellers, batteries and controller don’t like impacts or a parcel with too much play. Whether you’re buying from the shop or sending a drone in for buyback, good preparation reduces risk and speeds up inspection.

Preparing the parcel before shipping

  1. Power off every device and remove the propellers if the model allows it.
  2. Lock the gimbal with its original protector or gentle padding.
  3. Separate the drone, batteries, controller and accessories into compartments.
  4. Avoid any play in the box: the drone shouldn’t move if you gently shake the parcel.
  5. Add your contact details and the buyback or order reference if relevant.

Why a pickup point is convenient

A pickup point cuts down on missed deliveries and lets you collect the parcel on a more flexible schedule. Dronex uses pickup-point delivery via Boxtal to simplify receiving parcels across the eurozone. When ordering, choose an accessible location and check its opening hours.

What to check when you collect your parcel

  • A crushed, opened or resealed box: report it immediately at the pickup point.
  • Photos of the parcel before opening it if you have any doubt.
  • Checking the contents: drone, batteries, charger, controller, Goggles, invoice.
  • A power-on test as soon as possible.
  • Keeping the packaging until you’ve fully validated everything.

Sending a drone for buyback

Before a buyback shipment, clean the drone, charge the batteries moderately, add the accessories you declared and photograph the contents. If the drone is damaged, declare it in the quote: our guide on broken DJI drones explains how to document a crash or a fault.

Receiving after a purchase: first inspection

After receiving a used drone, check the overall condition, the gimbal, the batteries, the accessories and the account linking. Our guide on linked DJI accounts lists what to check before you fly.

What if the parcel looks damaged?

Report the issue at the pickup point, take photos before opening it, and keep all packaging until the matter is resolved.
